Pongal – An easy recipe for a healthy breakfast!!

Ingredients :

Raw Rice3/4 Cup
Moong Dal1/4 Cup
Ghee2 tbsp
Cumin Seeds        1 tsp
Pepper1 tsp
Cashews NutsAs required
Curry leavesAs required
Green Chilly1 no
Ginger1 inch
Salt         As required


  1. Wash the Raw Rice and Moong Dal .
  2. Take the washed Raw Rice and Moong Dal in Pressure Cooker.
  3. Add 3 1/4 Cup Water into the Cooker.
  4. Add required Salt.
  5. Close the cooker and allow it for 4 whistles in medium flame.


  1. After 4 whistle ,open the cooker and mix it well.


  1. Take Ghee in a pan.
  2. Add Cumin seeds,Pepper,Curry leaves,Finely Chopped Green Chilly,Grated Ginger and Cashews.
  3. Fry it and add it to boiled Raw Rice and Moong Dal(from step 2).
  4. Mix it well.

Tasty Pongal ready to be served!!!
