Plum Cake – A Recipe..

Ingredients :

Black Raisins1 1/2 tbsp
Raisins1 1/2 tbsp
Tutti Frutti1 1/2 tbsp
Cherries1 1/2 tbsp
Cashews1 1/2 tbsp
Almonds1 1/2 tbsp
Orange Juice3 tbsp
Maida1 Cup
Sugar1/4 Cup(Powdered) + 3tbsp
Milk1/2 Cup
Refined Oil3 tbsp
Warm Water3 tbsp
Cocoa Powder1/2 tbsp
NutMeg Powder1/2 tsp
Cinnamon Powder1/4 tsp
Dry Ginger Powder2 Pinch
Baking Powder1/2 tsp
Baking Soda2 Pinch
Vinegar1 tsp
Vanilla Essence1/2 tsp
Salt1 Pinch


  1. Soak Black Raisins,Raisins,Tutti Frutti,Cherries,Cashews and almonds in Orange Juice for 5-6 hrs.


  1. Cover the Pan with lid and pre-heat for 10 mins.
  2. Rub the Mould with Oil and spread the Butter Paper.


  1. Take 3 tbsp Sugar in a pan and heat it in medium flame .
  2. Allow the Sugar to Caramelize .
  3. Add Warm Water to Caramelized Sugar to prevent it from solidifying.


  1. Sieve Maida,Powdered Sugar,Baking powder,Baking Soda,Salt,Cocoa Powder,NutMeg Powder,Cinnamon Powder and Dry Ginger Powder.
  2. Mix it well.


  1. Take Milk ,Oil and Vanilla essence in a Bowl.
  2. Mix it well with a fork or whisk.
  3. Add Sieved Dry Ingredients(From Step 4) in batches.
  4. Mix it gently.
  5. Add Caramelized Sugar (From Step 3) and Mix it.
  6. Add Soaked Dry fruits(From Step 1) and Mix it.
  7. Add Vinegar and give a mix.


  1. Pour Cake Batter into the Cake Mould .

Tips:        Make sure the cake mould is half-filled.

2.Tap the cake mould to remove the air bubbles.


  1. Keep the cake mould in the pre-heated Pan.
  2. Close the Pan with a lid and allow it to bake for 40-45 mins.
  3. After 45mins,insert a toothpick into the cake to check whether it is baked or not.
  4. Switch Off the Stove and Demould the cake after it gets cooled-off.

Tasty Plum Cake Ready…
