Chicken Salna – An amazing curry for Parotta!!

Ingredients :

Tomatoes2 Nos
Big Onion1 No
Mint leavesAs Required
Curry leavesAs Required
Coriander leavesAs Required
Green Chillies2 Nos
Stone flower1No
Cloves4 Nos     
Cardamom4 Nos     
Star Anise1 No
Cinnamon2 Nos
Bay leaves2 Nos
Chilly powderAs per Taste
Coriander powder1 tbsp
Garam Masala1 tsp
Turmeric powder¼ tsp
Poppy seeds1 tsp
Cashew nuts6 Nos
Pepper½ tsp
Cumin seeds1 tsp
Fennel seeds2 tsp
Ginger Garlic paste2 tsp
Coconut1 handful Grated
SaltAs required
OilAs required


  1. Heat Oil in a pan.
  2. Add 1 Cinnamon, 2 Cloves,2 Cardamom,Star Anise,Stone flower,1 Bay leaf,Cumin seeds ,Fennel seeds,Pepper,Grated Coconut,Poppy seeds ,Cashew nuts and Small Onions.
  3. Roast it till the Grated Coconut becomes golden brown.
  4. Allow it to cool and then Grind it into fine paste by adding water.
  5. Keep the paste aside.


  1. Heat 4 tbsp Oil in a pan.
  2. Add 1 Cinnamon,2 Cloves,2 Cardamom,Bay leaf and finely chopped Big Onions.
  3. Saute it well.
  4. Add Green Chilies,Chopped Tomatoes and Curry leaves.
  5. Saute it till Tomatoes gets cooked well.


  1. Add Chilly powder ,Coriander powder,Garam Masala and Turmeric powder with Step 2 mixture
  2. Keep the Stove in low flame while adding all powders.
  3. Saute it well
  4. Add the Grinded fine paste (from step 1).
  5. Mix it well.


  1. Add Chicken pieces to the Mixture (from step 3).
  2. Add required Water,Salt,Coriander leaves and Mint leaves.
  3. Close the pan and allow it cook for 20-25 mins
  4. After 25 mins,Add some coriander leaves and serve the Salna.

Tasty Chicken Salna now is ready!!
