Paneer Butter Masala – A cuisine for all seasons!!

Ingredients :

Paneer200 gms.
Butter6 Tbsp
Onion1 if Big, 2 if medium size
Tomato3-4 depending on the size
Ginger1 inch
Garlic2-3 cloves
Cashews5-6
Cinamon2 inch
Bay Leaf1 no.
Cardamom2 no.
Garam Masala½ Tbsp
Chilly Powder1 ½ Tbsp
SaltAs required
SugarPinch of Sugar
Kasuri Methi1 Tbsp

Process:

  • Chop the onion and tomato into pieces.
  • Add 1 Tbsp  of butter to a pan. Add the chopped onions to it and Sautee it well for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the chopped tomato, the cashews, ginger and garlic to the same pan and Sautee well.
  • Once the mixture cools down, grind it to a fine paste. Keep the paste aside.
Paneer Butter Masala
  • Add 2-3 Tbsp of butter in the pan, add bay leaf, cinnamon, Cardamom to the pan and fry it well.
  • Once it is fried, add the fine paste made above.
  • Add Garam Masala, Kashmiri chilli powder, sugar and salt to the mixture and stir well.
  • Close the pan, keeping it in medium flame for 7-8 minutes.
  • Add the cut pieces of Paneer, stir well, and leave it for 3 minutes.
  • Take Kasuri Methi, crush it well and spread the same over the dish.
  • Add 1 tbsp of butter if required at the end.
