Aapam – A Recipe!!

Aapam is one of it’s kind and goes with many curries.People love it for the taste and definitely the shape. This video we are letting you know how to make Aapam.


Raw Rice               1 Cup
Urad DalLess than 1/4 Cup
Steamed Rice1/2 Cup
Grated Coconut1/2 Cup
Sugar1 tsp
Fenugreek1 tsp
Cooking Soda2 pinch
SaltAs required


  1. Wash Raw Rice,Urad Dal and Fenugreek.
  2. Soak Raw Rice , Urad Dal and Fenugreek in water for 2hours.
  3. After 2hours,Filter water from the soaked Raw Rice ,Urad Dal and Fenugreek.


  1. Add Steamed Rice and Grated Coconut to soaked ingredients (From Step1).
  2. Mix it well.
How to make Aapam!!


  1. Grind the Step2 mixture into a fine paste in Grinder.
  2. Allow it to Ferment for 8 hours.


  1. After 8 hours of Fermentation ,add Salt,Sugar and Cooking Soda to the batter.
  2. Mix it well.


  1. Heat Aappam Pan in medium flame.
  2. Pour Batter and spread it evenly.
  3. Close the pan with lid and allow to cook it well
  4. After Aappam is prefectly cooked,take it out of the pan and serve it.
