Legiyam – A Healthy Recipe!

Legiyam

Ingredients:

3.Ajwain (Omam)2 1/2 tbsp
4.Dry ginger3 small pieces
5.Cumin seeds1 tbsp
6.Cardamom3 nos
7.Cloves3 nos
8.Palm jaggery50grams
9.Gingelly Oil2 tbsp
10.Honey1 tbsp
11.Ghee1 tbsp
12.Cinnamon powder1/4 tsp
Ingredients.

Step:1

  1. Crush long pepper,pepper,dry ginger,cumin seeds,cardamom and cloves roughly.
  2. Soak the crushed ingredients along with ajwain in water for 8 hours.

Step:2

  1. After 8 hours,filter the ingredients from water .
  2. Grind the soaked ingredients into a fine paste.
  3. Filter the paste .

Step:3

  1. Take palm jaggery in an utensil and add little water.
  2. Heat it till the jaggery gets dissolved completely.
Legiyam!

Step:4

  1. Heat gingelly oil in hard bottomed pan.
  2. Add the filtered paste from step 2.
  3. Stir it continuously.
  4. After 5 minutes,add cinnamon powder and stir it .
  5. When it reaches semi-liquid consistency,add palm jaggery syrup from step 3.
  6. Keep stirring.

Step:5

  1. Add honey and ghee after the mixture gets little more solid .
  2. Remove the legiyam when it separates from the pan.
  3. Allow it cool and make balls.

Tips:Store it in airtight container.Take it regularly to improve digestive and immune power.
